It is with great sadness that we have to announce that our good friend and Trafford Labour colleague, Cllr Denise Western, died peacefully on Friday 22 August following a short illness.

Denise was first elected as a councillor for Broadheath in May 2012 and we know local residents and community groups will be saddened by this news.

She held many roles during her time as a local councillor, including as Chair of Trafford Council’s Children’s Scrutiny Committee.

Denise was a champion of children and young people and ensured their voices were heard.

Our thoughts are with Denise’s family at this time.
