Catherine Hynes-Urmston Ward

I am extremely proud to have been re-selected as Labour’s candidate for Urmston. Having lived in and around the Urmston area all my life, it has been an honour to represent the place where I grew up.

Over the last four years as a Councillor, I have stood up for the people of Urmston. I have listened to resident’s fears about local health services, their concerns over pollution and the quality of air we breathe, the safety of our roads and people’s worry over the impact on families of Trafford’s Conservative Council budget cuts. As the mother of two young children, I share these concerns and if re-elected in May, I will spend the next four years fighting for the best deal for Urmston.

As Deputy Leader of Trafford’s Labour Group, together with my Labour colleagues, I will hold the Tories to account for the decisions they make. On the Council, I am Labour’s spokesperson for Partnerships and Communities and I will continue to work in partnership, to ensure that our community is as strong, safe and vibrant as it can be.
