Tom Ross-Stretford Ward

I am delighted to have been selected, once again, as your Labour Party candidate for Stretford Ward.

Since my election as your local Councillor in 2008 I've campaigned, together with my Labour colleagues and local community groups, for Stretford to get a better deal from Trafford Council. I am pleased that our town is finally getting the attention it deserves. If elected again in 2016, I will continue to spend the next four years ensuring that Stretford thrives.

On the Council, I am the Finance Spokesperson for the Trafford Labour Group of Councillors. This gives me opportunity to really understand what is happening to the Council Tax we pay, how it is being used, and where cuts are being made. I will continue to campaign to protect our local public services against this Conservative Government and our Local Council's austerity programme, which are so damaging to the people of Stretford, our communities and families.

I am a Governor at Victoria Park Junior School, the Secretary of ‘Friends of Victoria Park’, Vice-Chair of the Meadows Tenants and Residents Association and a regular attendee of the Trees Tenants & Residents Association. If re-elected on 5 May 2016, I promise to continue to work hard for you as your local Labour Councillor.
